Pet Clipper Options Recommended by Professional Pet Stylist
Pet clipper options for pet grooming
I am a Professional Pet Stylist. People have asked me throughout my career what the best clipper is for their pets. I always recommend seeking a professional to work on your pet. However, I do have a few suggestions for clippers that I have used and also know will work well.
The clippers I recommend will come with one standard #10 blade and it will be detachable. They also come with a small clipper oil. Coolant will be needed.
#1 Choice- I am partial to this clipper because I used it professionally for over ten years and still use it. Most will not need this kind of strength over time.

Andis AGC2 UltraEdge 2-Speed Detachable Blade Dog & Cat Clipper, Burgundy
I can confidently recommend the Andis UltraEdge 2 speed clipper. I used this style professionally for over ten years. This is suitable for professional and home use.
It is ergonomic and runs smoothly. It is quite and it is not heavy. My clipper was blue but this style is currently available in Burgundy.
#2 Easy recommendation-
#3 My first clipper-
The Andis AG 2-speed has a special place in my heart because it is the very first clipper that I used. It is a Professional clipper but the motor does not have the same strength over time as the Andis UltraEdge.
It would be suitable for most home use situations. This also has a detachable blade and is a two-speed clipper. -Accessories needed-
Kool Lube cools the clipper head quickly and also lubricates the blade some when you are grooming the pet. This also cleans the blade. Spray the blade when the clipper is running and pointed downwards. Then turn the clipper off and dry the excess away with a towel.
A #30 blade works well under a guard comb. The #10 provided will work but the cuts may not be as smooth. I also added a longer blade that will be far easier for a nice cut than a guard. 3f 🙂 This snaps on your clipper head just as the ten does.
-Conclusion-
All of the clippers have a year warranty on the box and there is a warranty on Chewy.com which is owned by Petsmart. I always have a can of coolant on hand as well.
Each clipper will come with a blade oil and a ten blade. If you plan on using the guard combs, the coat must be clean/tangle free and use a thirty under the guard.
I hope this helps in your pet clipper pursuit. Let me know if you have any questions!
